Indian Airforce Agniveer Vayu Eligibility 2026
Science Subjects:
Candidates should have passed 10+2 / Intermediate with Mathematics, Physics and English from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
Passed a three-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, IT, Instrumentation) with 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English.
OR
Passed a two-year vocational course with Physics and Mathematics as non-vocational subjects with 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English.
Other Than Science Subjects:
Candidates should have passed 10+2 / Intermediate in any stream with minimum 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English.

Passed a two-year vocational course with 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English.
Physical Eligibility (Medical Standards)
Height:
- Male: Minimum 152 cm
- Female: Minimum 152 cm
- 147 cm for candidates from North East & hilly regions of Uttarakhand
- 150 cm for candidates from Lakshadweep
Weight:
Weight should be proportionate to height and age as per Indian Air Force standards.

Under the Agnipath Scheme, Agniveervayu personnel will receive a monthly pay package that increases each year during the four-year engagement period:

Candidates applying for IAF Agniveervayu Intake 01/2027 must meet the following age criteria:
- Date of Birth: Candidates should be born between 01 January 2006 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive).
- Upper Age Limit: The candidate must not exceed 21 years of age at the time of enrolment, if selected.

Indian Airforce Agniveer Vayu Selection Process
The selection process for Indian Air Force Agniveervayu Intake 01/2027 is carried out in three structured phases to assess academic ability, physical fitness, adaptability, and medical fitness of candidates.
Phase–I: Online Written Examination
All eligible candidates will first appear for an online objective-type examination, conducted on 30 & 31 March 2026.
- Science Subjects Candidates:
Physics, Mathematics and English (as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus)
Duration: 60 minutes - Other Than Science Subjects Candidates:
English, Reasoning & General Awareness
Duration: 45 minutes - Candidates opting for both:
Physics, Mathematics, English, Reasoning & General Awareness
Duration: 85 minutes
Marking Scheme:
- +1 mark for each correct answer
- 0 marks for unattempted questions
- –0.25 marks for each wrong answer
Marks obtained are normalized, and candidates must qualify each subject separately. Shortlisting for Phase-II is done on a state-wise cut-off basis.
Phase–II: Physical Fitness Test & Adaptability Tests
Shortlisted candidates are called to designated Airmen Selection Centres (ASC).
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
PFT–I: 1.6 Km Run
- Male: Within 7 minutes
- Female: Within 8 minutes
PFT–II (after recovery time):
For Male Candidates:
- 10 Push-ups – 1 minute
- 10 Sit-ups – 1 minute
- 20 Squats – 1 minute
For Female Candidates:
- 10 Sit-ups – 1 minute 30 seconds
- 15 Squats – 1 minute
Candidates must qualify all events to proceed further.
Adaptability Tests
- Adaptability Test–I: Objective written test to assess suitability for deployment in varied terrain, climate, and operational conditions.
- Adaptability Test–II: Evaluation of the candidate’s ability to adapt to military discipline, environment, and way of life.
Phase–III: Medical Examination
Candidates clearing Phase-II undergo a detailed medical examination conducted by an Indian Air Force Medical Board.
Medical tests include:
- Blood and urine examination
- Biochemistry tests
- Chest X-ray, ECG
- Vision and hearing tests
- Ultrasound (for female candidates)
Candidates found medically unfit may apply for an Appeal Medical Board (AMB) within the stipulated time.
