Eligibility Details
1. Constable (IRBn) – Male
- Qualification: Class 10 pass or equivalent from a recognized board
- Height:
- General: 165 cm
- APST: 160 cm (152 cm for Tirap/Changlang/Longding districts)
- Chest: 79 cm (normal), 84 cm (expanded)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- 100 metres: 16 seconds
- 1500 metres: 8 minutes
- Long Jump: 11 feet
- High Jump: 107 cm
2. Constable Civil Police (Male)
- Qualification: Class 10 pass
- Height and Chest: Same as Constable (IRBn)
- PET:
- 100 metres: 16 seconds
- 1500 metres: 8 minutes
- Long Jump: 11 feet
- High Jump: 107 cm
3. Constable Civil Police (Female)
- Qualification: Class 10 pass
- Height:
- General: 157 cm
- APST: 152 cm
- Chest: Not applicable
- PET:
- 100 metres: 19 seconds
- 800 metres: 5 minutes
- Long Jump: 9 feet
- High Jump: 90 cm
4. Constable Band (IRBn)
- Qualification:
- Class 10 pass
- Knowledge of playing band instruments
- Physical Standards: Same as male constable posts
- Additional Requirement: Trade test in band performance
5. Constable Bugler (IRBn)
- Qualification:
- Class 10 pass
- Knowledge of bugle playing
- Physical Standards: Same as male constable posts
- Additional Requirement: Trade test in bugle playing
6. Fireman (Male)
- Qualification: Class 10 pass
- Height: 165 cm (General category)
- Chest: 79 cm (normal), 84 cm (expanded)
- PET:
- 100 metres with 10 kg load: 1 minute
- 1500 metres: 8 minutes 30 seconds
- Rope/pipe climbing: 8 feet
- Long Jump: 11 feet
- High Jump: 107 cm
7. Special Tiger Guard (STPF)
- Qualification: Class 10 pass
- Height:
- Male: 163 cm
- Female: 150 cm
- Chest:
- Male: 79–84 cm
- Female: 74–79 cm
- PET:
- Male: 25 km walk in 4 hours
- Female: 14 km walk in 4 hours
- Long Jump: 11 feet (male), 9 feet (female)
- High Jump: 3.5 feet
All candidates must also meet prescribed medical and vision standards. Physical tests are qualifying in nature, but failing to meet them will result in disqualification regardless of written exam performance.
Salary Details
In this recruitment, the pay scale for all posts is the same. All selected candidates under the IRB GD Constable Recruitment 2026 will be placed in Pay Level-3 as per the 7th Pay Commission.

- Pay Scale: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100 per month

- 22 years for most Constable posts (5/26 to 9/26)
- 32 years for Fireman and Special Tiger Guard posts (10/26 and 11/26)
- APST candidates: Relaxation up to 5 years in upper age limit
- Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per government rules based on service period
- Additional relaxation is applicable as per state government norms where specified

- APST Candidates: ₹150
- Unreserved (UR) Candidates: ₹200
Payment Mode
- The application fee must be paid online only through the official APSSB portal.
- No offline payment or other mode of payment will be accepted.
Selection Process
Stage I: Written Examination
- The first stage will be a written objective-type exam
- Total marks: 200
- Subjects include:
- General Awareness
- General Intelligence & Reasoning
- Arithmetical & Numerical Ability
- English Language & Comprehension
- Minimum qualifying marks: 33% in aggregate
- Candidates are shortlisted for the next stage in a 1:3 ratio based on merit
Stage II: Physical Tests and Trade Test
Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for:
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Trade Test (for Constable Band and Bugler posts)
These tests are qualifying in nature and include height, chest, running, long jump, high jump, and post-specific skill tests.
Stage III: Medical Examination
- Candidates who clear PST/PET will undergo a medical fitness test
- Vision and overall physical health standards will be checked
- Only medically fit candidates will be considered for final selection
Final Selection
- Final merit will be prepared based on written exam marks and preference of posts
- PST, PET, and medical tests are qualifying only and not added to final marks
