Eligibility Details
The Allahabad High Court has officially opened a major recruitment drive for eligible graduates seeking a prestigious government career in the judicial administration sector.
- Review Officer (RO) – 138 Posts
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in India. In addition, applicants must possess a computer qualification such as a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, or an NIELIT ‘O’ Level, or a CCC certificate. Moreover, candidates must demonstrate a minimum English typing speed of 25 words per minute on a computer. - Assistant Review Officer (ARO) – 380 Posts
Applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Furthermore, they must hold a valid computer qualification (Diploma/Degree in Computer Science or equivalent certifications like O Level/CCC). In addition, they must maintain a typing speed of at least 25 WPM in English. - Computer Assistant (CA) – 25 Posts
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution. Along with that, they must have a computer-related qualification such as a Diploma/Degree in Computer Science or equivalent certification (O Level/CCC). However, for this post, a strong emphasis is placed on computer operation skills and English typing speed of 25 WPM.
Salary Details
The Allahabad High Court offers an attractive salary package under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), and moreover, selected candidates also receive additional allowances such as DA, HRA, and other admissible benefits as per government rules.
- Review Officer (RO)
Candidates appointed as Review Officers will receive a pay scale under Level-8 of the 7th CPC, which ranges from ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100 per month. In addition, they will also be eligible for various allowances, and consequently, the overall in-hand salary becomes significantly higher. - Assistant Review Officer (ARO)
Selected Assistant Review Officers will be placed under Level-7 of the pay matrix, with a salary range of ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 per month. Furthermore, they will also enjoy government benefits and allowances, which enhance the total compensation package. - Computer Assistant (CA)
Candidates appointed as Computer Assistants will receive a pay scale under Level-4 of the 7th CPC, ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹81,100 per month. Additionally, they will get applicable allowances, and therefore, the overall salary remains stable and secure.

Selection Process
The selection process is conducted in a structured three-stage examination system, and importantly, candidates must qualify each stage separately. Moreover, final selection is strictly based on merit performance in the last two stages.
Stage 1: Prelims (Screening Test)
- This is an objective-type OMR-based written exam
- Total questions: 200 MCQs
- Total marks: 200
- Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes)
- Subjects include General Studies, Current Affairs, General English & Hindi, Reasoning Ability, and Basic Computer Knowledge
- No negative marking is applicable
- This stage is only for shortlisting candidates for the next round
Stage 2: Mains Examination (Descriptive Written Test)
- This stage is conducted in pen-and-paper mode
- Total marks: 150
- Duration: 2 hours
- The paper is divided into the following sections:
- Essay Writing (English) – 30 marks
- Precis Writing – 30 marks
- English to Hindi Translation – 25 marks
- Hindi to English Translation – 25 marks
- English Comprehension – 40 marks
- Candidates must score at least 50/150 marks (with relaxation for reserved categories as per rules)
Stage 3: Computer Knowledge Test (Typing Test)
- This stage is conducted as a computer-based typing test
- Candidates are required to type a passage of around 500 words
- Time duration: 20 minutes
- Minimum required speed: 25 words per minute (WPM) in English
- Accuracy is very important, and typing errors lead to deduction of marks (0.1 per mistake)
Final Merit List Preparation
- The final merit list is prepared on the basis of:
- Stage 2 (Mains Examination) marks
- Stage 3 (Typing Test) performance
- Stage 1 is only qualifying in nature and is not counted in final selection
- Candidates must qualify all three stages individually to be considered for appointment
