Selection Process
The Indian Air Force will conduct the selection process in multiple stages to evaluate the candidates’ knowledge, physical fitness, adaptability, and medical fitness.
1. Phase-I Online Written Examination
Candidates must appear for an online objective-type examination. The exam includes subjects based on the stream selected, such as Physics, Mathematics, English, Reasoning, and General Awareness. Candidates who score above the cut-off marks will qualify for the next stage.
2. Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates must produce their original educational certificates, identity proof, domicile certificate, photographs, and other required documents. The authorities will verify all documents before allowing candidates to proceed further.
3. Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Candidates must successfully complete the prescribed physical fitness standards.
For Male Candidates:
- 1.6 km Run in 7 minutes
- 10 Push-ups in 1 minute
- 10 Sit-ups in 1 minute
- 20 Squats in 1 minute
For Female Candidates:
- 1.6 km Run in 8 minutes
- 10 Sit-ups in 1 minute 30 seconds
- 15 Squats in 1 minute
4. Adaptability Test-I
Candidates who clear the PFT will appear for an objective-type Adaptability Test-I. This test evaluates whether candidates can perform effectively in different weather conditions, geographical locations, and operational environments of the Indian Air Force.
5. Adaptability Test-II
Candidates who qualify Adaptability Test-I must undergo Adaptability Test-II. This stage assesses whether they can successfully adapt to the military lifestyle, discipline, and service environment.
6. Medical Examination
Candidates who clear all previous stages must undergo a detailed medical examination conducted by the Indian Air Force Medical Board. The examination checks overall physical and mental fitness according to the prescribed medical standards.
7. Final Merit List
