Eligibility Details
Candidates must possess the required educational qualification according to the post level they are applying for.
- Level 5/4 Posts: Candidates must have a Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
- Level 2 Posts: Candidates must have passed 12th (10+2) from a recognized Board. Alternatively, candidates with 10th + Act Apprenticeship or 10th + Diploma from a recognized institution are also eligible.
- Level 1 Posts: Candidates must have passed 10th (Matriculation) from a recognized Board. Candidates holding an ITI certificate or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT are also eligible.
- Candidates awaiting their final examination results are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants must also fulfill the required sports achievements prescribed in the official notification for the respective pay level.
Salary Details
The salary will be paid as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Besides the basic pay, selected candidates will also receive DA, HRA, TA, Medical Facilities, Leave Benefits, and other admissible Railway allowances as per Central Government rules.
- Level 5: ₹29,200/- to ₹92,300/- per month
- Level 4: ₹25,500/- to ₹81,100/- per month
- Level 2: ₹19,900/- to ₹63,200/- per month
- Level 1: ₹18,000/- to ₹56,900/- per month
Age limit
Candidates must fulfill the prescribed age criteria as mentioned in the official notification.
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 25 Years
- Age calculation date: 01 January 2026
- Age relaxation: No age relaxation is available for any category, including SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD, or Ex-Servicemen. All candidates must satisfy the same age criteria.
Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay the application fee according to their category. The fee must be paid through Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft (DD) in favour of “PFA, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works”, payable at Chittaranjan.
- SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PwBD / Women / Minorities / Economically Backward Classes (EBC): ₹250/-
- All Other Candidates: ₹500/-
Candidates claiming fee concession must attach the required supporting certificate along with the application form; otherwise, their application may be rejected.
Selection Process
The selection process will be conducted on the basis of sports performance and merit. Moreover, no written examination will be held for this recruitment.
- Application Scrutiny: First, the Railway Recruitment Committee will verify all application forms and eligibility documents.
- Sports Trial: Next, eligible candidates will appear for the Sports Trial. Candidates must score at least 25 out of 40 marks to be declared fit.
- Sports Achievement Assessment: After that, the committee will evaluate the candidate’s sports achievements and performance certificates and award marks accordingly.
- Educational Qualification Assessment: Furthermore, marks will be allotted based on the candidate’s educational qualification as prescribed in the notification.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will then undergo document verification to confirm their eligibility, educational qualifications, age, and sports certificates.
- Medical Examination: Finally, candidates who qualify all previous stages must pass the prescribed Railway medical fitness examination before receiving the final appointment.

How to Apply
Eligible candidates must submit their application offline by following the steps given below:
- First, download the official notification and the prescribed application form from the CLW official website.
- Next, fill in the application form carefully in English or Hindi using a blue or black ballpoint pen. Moreover, enter all details correctly to avoid rejection.
- Then, paste a recent passport-size colour photograph and sign the application form in all the required places.
- After that, attach self-attested photocopies of your educational certificates, age proof, sports achievement certificates, category certificate (if applicable), and all other required documents.
- Thereafter, attach the prescribed Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft (DD) as the application fee, if applicable.
- Also, write “APPLICATION AGAINST RECRUITMENT FOR THE YEAR 2026–2027” clearly on the top of the envelope.
- Finally, send the completed application form through Speed Post/Registered Post or submit it in the designated Drop Box before the last date at the address mentioned below.
