Moreover, SBI will deduct 1/4th mark for every wrong answer. The bank will not prescribe minimum qualifying marks for individual sections or the overall Preliminary Examination. Based on aggregate marks, SBI will shortlist approximately 10 times the available vacancies in each category, subject to availability, for the Main Examination.
Phase-II: Main Examination
Candidates who qualify for the Preliminary Examination will appear for the Main Examination. It will carry 200 marks, and candidates will get 2 hours 40 minutes to complete it.
| Subject | Questions | Marks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| General/Financial Awareness | 50 | 50 | 35 Minutes |
| General English | 40 | 40 | 35 Minutes |

Furthermore, SBI will apply 1/4th negative marking for every incorrect answer. Candidates must achieve the minimum aggregate percentage decided by the Bank; however, SBI will not prescribe separate qualifying marks for individual subjects. Most importantly, only Main Examination marks will count towards the final merit list, while Preliminary Examination marks will not be added to the final merit.
Phase-III: Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)
Finally, SBI will conduct the Local Language Proficiency Test for provisionally selected candidates who have not studied the specified local language of their applied State in Class 10th or 12th. Candidates must qualify this test before joining the Bank.
The LLPT includes the following components:
| Test | Details |

| Subjective Test | 3 passages, 15 questions, 15 marks |
