The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have officially released the RRB JE Recruitment 2026 notification under CEN No. 04/2026. This recruitment offers 3,993 vacancies for Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) posts across multiple railway zones in India. Eligibility Details

Candidates must possess the required engineering qualification according to the post and trade they apply for.

  • Junior Engineer (Mechanical): 3-year Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial, Machining, or Tools & Die Engineering.
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical): 3-year Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or its allied branches.
  • Junior Engineer (Civil): 3-year Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering, including equivalent Civil Engineering qualifications.
  • Junior Engineer (Electronics): 3-year Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, Communication, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
  • Depot Material Superintendent (DMS): 3-year Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in any Engineering discipline from a recognized institute.

Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive salary under Pay Level-6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission. Besides the basic pay, they will also get DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, and other railway benefits.

The Railway Recruitment Boards will calculate the candidate’s age as on 1 January 2027.

Selection Process

The Railway Recruitment Board will conduct the selection process in four stages. Candidates must qualify for each stage to secure final selection.

Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT-1)

This is a screening examination of 100 marks with a duration of 90 minutes.

Stage 3: Document Verification

Finally, candidates must pass the prescribed Railway Medical Fitness Test according to the medical standard of the allotted post before appointment.
