Eligibility Details
Candidates must meet the trade-specific educational requirements prescribed by TIFR before they appear for the selection process.
- Candidates must hold an ITI National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade.
- The NTC must have been awarded by the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT).
- Candidates must have secured at least 60% aggregate marks in the respective trade.
- The qualification must match the trade for which the candidate applies.
- Eligible trades include Carpenter, Electrician, Fitter, Welder (G&E), Painter, Machinist, and Turner.
Salary Details
TIFR will provide selected candidates with a fixed stipend of ₹18,500 per month during the apprenticeship period. The institute will engage apprentices for the prescribed training period, and candidates should note that this engagement does not guarantee permanent employment with TIFR.

Selection Process

- The test will cover technical knowledge, generic aptitude, quantitative aptitude, reasoning, ITI syllabus, and mathematics.
- Candidates must secure at least 60% marks in the final merit list to remain eligible for selection.
- After completing the apprenticeship, every apprentice must appear for the All India Trade Test to assess trade proficiency.

How to Apply
Eligible candidates should complete the registration and application process carefully before attending the walk-in selection. Follow these steps:
- First, register on the National Apprenticeship Portal and retain the registration confirmation email for future reference.
- Next, visit the official TIFR Careers page and complete the online application for Advertisement No. 2026/24.
- After submitting the form, take a printout of the completed application form and affix a recent passport-size photograph.
- Prepare all required documents, including the apprenticeship registration confirmation, identity proof, date of birth proof, educational certificates, ITI marksheet and NTC certificate.
- Finally, report for the walk-in selection on 30 September 2026 at 9:30 AM at TIFR, Homi Bhabha Road, Colaba, Mumbai, along with the application form and required documents.
