CSIR–Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), New Delhi, has released Advertisement No. 02/PC/Non-Tech-2026 inviting online applications for the posts of Junior Hindi Translator (Post Code-A), Security Assistant/Watch & Ward Assistant (Post Code-B), and Multi-Tasking Staff (Post Code-C). The online application process will commence from 02 February 2026 at 10:00 AM and will remain open until 23 February 2026 up to 05:00 PM. Eligibility Details
1. Junior Hindi Translator (Post Code – A)
- Master’s Degree from a recognized University in:
- Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as medium of examination at degree level
OR - English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as medium of examination at degree level
OR - Any subject (other than Hindi/English) with:
- Hindi medium and English as compulsory or elective subject at degree level
OR - English medium and Hindi as compulsory or elective subject at degree level
OR - Both Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects at degree level
- Hindi medium and English as compulsory or elective subject at degree level
- Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as medium of examination at degree level
- AND one of the following:
- Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa
OR - Two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government offices, including Government of India undertakings
- Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa
Desirable Qualification
- Knowledge at Matric level of one language (other than Hindi) mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution
- Degree or Diploma in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa
2. Security Assistant / Watch & Ward Assistant (Post Code – B)
- Ex-Servicemen
- JCO in Army or equivalent rank in other Paramilitary Forces
- Minimum five years’ experience in security work
Desirable Qualification
- Good verbal communication skills in Hindi and English
- Knowledge of computer operations
- Knowledge of modern fire-fighting systems
- Knowledge of watch and ward/security monitoring systems
3. Multi-Tasking Staff (Post Code – C)
- Matriculation (10th Pass) or equivalent from a recognized Board
Desirable Qualification
- Intermediate (12th Pass) from a recognized Board
Salary Details
1. Junior Hindi Translator (Post Code-A)
- Pay Level: Level-06 (7th CPC)
- Pay Scale: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 per month
2. Security Assistant / Watch & Ward Assistant (Post Code-B)
- Pay Level: Level-06 (7th CPC)
- Pay Scale: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 per month
3. Multi-Tasking Staff (Post Code-C)
- Pay Level: Level-01 (7th CPC)
- Pay Scale: ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 per month
Note: In addition to basic pay, employees are eligible for other allowances as per CSIR/Central Government rules, such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and other benefits like medical facilities, pension scheme, leave travel concession, and more.

Selection Process
1. Junior Hindi Translator (Post Code-A)
- Selection is based on an open written competitive examination.
- There are two papers:
- Paper-I: Objective type (OMR or Computer-based)
- Paper-II: Descriptive type
- Paper-II will be evaluated only for candidates who qualify Paper-I by securing minimum threshold marks.
- Final merit list is prepared based on marks in Paper-II only.
- Medium of questions: English and Hindi.
- Paper-I Timing: 1 hour (1 hour 20 minutes for scribe candidates)
- Paper-II Timing: 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for scribe candidates)
2. Security Assistant / Watch & Ward Assistant (Post Code-B)
- First, candidates fulfilling essential criteria are shortlisted for Skill/Physical & Personality Assessment Test (qualifying in nature).
- Those who qualify will be called for Competitive Written Examination.
- Final merit list is prepared based on performance in the Competitive Written Examination.
3. Multi-Tasking Staff (Post Code-C)
- Candidates fulfilling essential criteria are invited for a Trade Test (qualifying in nature).
- Those who qualify the Trade Test are called for Competitive Written Examination.
- Competitive Written Examination consists of one objective type paper with four subjects.
- Final merit list is prepared based on performance in the Written Examination
How to Apply for CSIR CRRI Recruitment 2026
- Candidates must apply online only through the official website: www.crridom.gov.in
- Online application starts from 02 February 2026 (10:00 AM) and closes on 23 February 2026 (05:00 PM).
- No hard copy of the application form should be sent to CSIR-CRRI.
- Candidates must first register online using a valid email ID and password.
- After registration, login and fill in the primary details carefully (these cannot be changed after submission).
- Select the relevant Post Code and complete the application form.
- Fill in educational qualifications, experience details (if applicable), and other required information.
- Upload scanned copies of required documents, including:
- Photograph and signature
- Educational certificates
- Date of birth proof
- Caste/PwBD/EWS/ESM certificate (if applicable)
- Experience certificate (if required)
- NOC (for government employees, if applicable)
- Pay the application fee of Rs. 500 (if applicable) through SBI Collect and upload the e-receipt.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from fee payment.
- Verify all details carefully before final submission.
- Ensure the application is finally submitted; draft applications will not be considered.
- Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.
