Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Tax Assistant: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent. They must also qualify the Data Entry Skill Test with a speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour.
- Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th class) or equivalent from a recognized board.
Sports Certificate
- Candidates must possess a valid sports achievement certificate in any of the recognized games/sports notified by the Income Tax Department (such as Athletics, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Badminton, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Yogasana, etc.).
- The sports achievement should be at one of the following recognized levels:
- International Level: Represented India in an international competition with official approval.
- National Level: Represented a State/UT in Senior or Junior National Championships or National Games, with or without medals (preference given to medal winners).
- Khelo India Level: Medal winners in Khelo India Youth Games (18+ age category), Khelo India University Games, Khelo India Winter Games, or Khelo India Para Games.
- Inter-University Level: Represented a University in Inter-University tournaments conducted by recognized authorities and won medals or positions up to 3rd place.
- School Level: Represented State School Teams in National School Games (SGFI/All India School Games) and won medals or positions.
- Sports certificates must be issued by competent authorities and strictly in the prescribed formats (Form 1 to Form 5) as notified by the Government of India.
Salary Details
- Tax Assistant:
- Pay Level-4 as per 7th CPC
- ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 per month (approx basic pay with grade pay included in the level)
- Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS):
- Pay Level-1 as per 7th CPC
- ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 per month (approx basic pay with grade pay included in the level)

Selection Process
- All applications received within the prescribed time will be scrutinized based on eligibility conditions, educational qualification, age, and valid sports certificates.
- Eligible candidates will be shortlisted by the Sports Recruitment Committee according to the order of preference for sports achievements prescribed by the Government of India.
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for a written examination.
- Qualifying the written examination does not guarantee appointment; final selection depends on overall suitability and document verification.
- For the post of Tax Assistant, candidates must also qualify the Data Entry Skill Test (8000 key depressions per hour) as per recruitment rules.
- Final appointment will be subject to medical fitness, police verification, and verification of original documents.
