Eligibility Details
Educational Qualification
- Must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English.
OR
- Passed 3-year Diploma in Engineering with 50% marks and 50% in English.
OR
- Passed 2-year Vocational Course with Physics & Mathematics and 50% marks + 50% in English.
Sports Qualification
Candidate must fulfill at least one of the following:
- Represented India in Junior/Senior International competitions.
- Secured at least 5th position in Junior National or represented State/UT in Senior National competitions.
- Participated in All India Inter-University or Khelo India National (SAI) competitions.
Special Eligibility:
- Cricket: Played BCCI tournaments like U-19, U-23, Ranji Trophy, etc.
- Shooting: International participation or Top 50 national ranking.
- Chess: Minimum FIDE rating 2150 or above.
Salary Details
- 1st Year: ₹30,000 (In-hand: ₹21,000)
- 2nd Year: ₹33,000 (In-hand: ₹23,100)
- 3rd Year: ₹36,500 (In-hand: ₹25,550)
- 4th Year: ₹40,000 (In-hand: ₹28,000)
(30% of salary is deducted for corpus fund, and the Government contributes the same amount)
Seva Nidhi Package (After 4 Years)
- Total amount: Approx. ₹10.04 Lakhs (excluding interest)

- The maximum age at the time of enrolment should not exceed 21 years.
- For Agniveervayu (Sports) Intake 02/2026, no age or educational relaxation is permitted; only candidates meeting the exact criteria are eligible.

Selection Process
- Document Verification
- Original educational certificates, sports achievements, Aadhaar, body tattoo certificate, and consent forms are verified.
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- 1.6 km run to be completed within 7 minutes.
- 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 20 squats within 1 minute each (after prescribed breaks).
- Only PFT-qualified candidates move to sports trials.
- Sports Skill Trials
- Conducted for the specific sport applied for.
- Held at venues decided by Air Force Sports Control Board (AFSCB) in Delhi-NCR (or other locations if required).
- Candidates are shortlisted based on performance in trials.
- Medical Examination
- Conducted by IAF medical team as per IAF standards.
- Includes blood tests, urine tests, biochemistry, chest X-ray, ECG, dental, and vision checks.
- Candidates can appeal via Appeal Medical Board (AMB) if declared unfit.
- Final Recommendation
- Based on PFT, sports trials, and medical fitness.
- Only recommended candidates are enrolled as Agniveervayu (Sports).
