Eligibility Details
- Senior Scientific Assistant (Human Genetics): Master’s Degree (First or Second Class) in Life Sciences or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- EEG Technician: Diploma in Clinical Neuro Physiology OR B.Sc. degree in Physics / Electronics / Computer Science from a recognized institution.
- Library Assistant: Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from a recognized university.
- Artist:
- Pass in SSLC / Matriculation
- Diploma in Arts from a recognized institution or school
- Photographer:
- Pass in SSLC / Matriculation
- Diploma in Photography or Cinematography from a recognized institution
- Stenographer Grade-II:
- Graduation from a recognized university
- Skill Test: Dictation for 10 minutes at 80 words per minute and transcription on computer (50 minutes for English / 65 minutes for Hindi)
- Assistant Instructor (Panchakarma): SSLC / 10th pass with a one-year certificate course in Panchakarma from a recognized university or institution.
- Medical Records Technician:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Science) from a recognized university
- Training in Medical Records Technician course from a recognized institution
- Junior Secretarial Assistant:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university
- Minimum 6 months computer training certificate
- Hospital Assistant (Panchakarma): SSLC / 10th pass from a recognized board.
- Barber: SSLC pass from a recognized board.
Salary Details
- Group B Posts: Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level–6 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission, with a monthly salary starting from ₹35,400 plus applicable allowances.
- Library Assistant & EEG Technician: These posts fall under Pay Level–5, offering a basic pay of ₹29,200 per month along with DA, HRA, and other government benefits.
- Stenographer Grade-II & Senior Technical Posts: Salary is offered under Pay Level–4, with an initial basic pay of ₹25,500 plus allowances.
- Junior Secretarial Assistant & Technical Support Posts: Appointed under Pay Level–2, candidates will receive a starting basic pay of ₹19,900 per month.
- Other Group C Posts (Artist, Photographer, Panchakarma Assistant, Hospital Assistant, Barber, etc.): Salary is as per Pay Level–1, beginning at ₹18,000 per month, excluding allowances.
Age limit as on 04/03/2026
- Senior Scientific Assistant (Human Genetics): Maximum age limit is 35 years.
- EEG Technician & Library Assistant: Upper age limit is 30 years.
- All Group C Posts: Candidates should not be more than 27 years of age.
- Age relaxation as per government rules.

- Group B Posts:
- UR / OBC / EWS: ₹1,180 (including GST)
- SC / ST: ₹885 (including GST)
- Group C Posts:
- UR / OBC / EWS: ₹885 (including GST)
- SC / ST: ₹590 (including GST)
- PwBD Candidates (40% or more disability): No application fee (fee exempted).
Selection Process
- Stage–I: Written Examination (MCQ Based)
- The first stage will be a multiple-choice question (MCQ) test conducted in English language only.
- The exam will be of 100 marks with a total duration of 90 minutes.
- Each correct answer will carry 1 mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- Qualifying Marks:
- UR / EWS: Minimum 40%
- OBC: Minimum 35%
- SC / ST / PwBD: Minimum 30%
- Stage–II: Skill Test / Document Verification
- Candidates shortlisted from the written test will be called for a skill test (where applicable) and/or document verification conducted by NIMHANS.
- Final Merit List:
- The final selection will be based on the combined performance of Stage-I and Stage-II, as applicable to the post.
