Eligibility Details
Candidates must fulfil the educational qualifications and skill requirements according to the post they are applying for.
Assistant / Upper Division Clerk (UDC)
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.32/10 from a recognised university.
- The degree must be completed within the minimum prescribed duration of the course.
- Computer proficiency is mandatory.
Junior Personal Assistant (JPA)
- Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 60% marks or CGPA 6.32/10, OR
- Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with minimum 60% marks or CGPA 6.32/10, along with one year of experience as a Steno-Typist/Stenographer.
- Minimum English shorthand speed of 60 WPM is required.
- Computer proficiency is mandatory.
Stenographer
- Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 60% marks or CGPA 6.32/10, OR
- Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with minimum 60% marks or CGPA 6.32/10, along with one year of experience as a Steno-Typist/Stenographer.
- Minimum English shorthand speed of 60 WPM is required.
- Computer proficiency is mandatory.
Salary Details
Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Matrix Level-4 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). Along with the basic pay, they will also receive several Central Government allowances and benefits.
- Pay Level: Level-4 (7th CPC)
- Basic Pay: ₹25,500 per month
- Approximate Monthly Salary: Up to ₹81,100 per month (depending on allowances, posting location, and other admissible benefits)

Age limit
The age limit will be calculated as on 16 August 2026.
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age (UR): 28 years
- Maximum Age (OBC-NCL): 31 years
- Maximum Age (SC/ST): 33 years
In addition, age relaxation is also applicable for PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, Government Employees, Meritorious Sportspersons, Widows, Divorced Women, and Judicially Separated Women as per Government of India rules.
Application Fee
Candidates must first pay a processing fee of ₹500 while submitting the online application. However, the refundable amount depends on the candidate’s category and whether they appear in the written examination.

Selection Process
ISRO will conduct the recruitment process through the following stages:
- Written Examination – ISRO will first conduct a written examination to assess candidates’ general aptitude, reasoning ability, English language skills, and post-related knowledge. Candidates must qualify in this stage to move forward.
- Skill Test (For JPA & Stenographer Posts) – ISRO will conduct a skill test for candidates applying for Junior Personal Assistant (JPA) and Stenographer posts to evaluate their shorthand and typing proficiency. Candidates must meet the prescribed standards to qualify.
- Document Verification – ISRO will verify the educational certificates, identity proof, category certificates, and other required documents of shortlisted candidates.
- Medical Examination – Finally, ISRO will conduct a medical examination to ensure that selected candidates meet the prescribed medical standards before issuing the final appointment letter.
