Eligibility Details
Candidates must meet the educational qualifications specified for the post they wish to apply for.
JRF / Project Associate-I
- B.Tech./B.E., M.Sc., or M.Tech./M.E./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent discipline.
- At least 60% marks (or 6.0 CGPA out of 10) are required.
- Candidates should have a valid GATE score or must have qualified another National Eligibility Test/National Level Examination conducted by Central Government institutions.
- Applicants without a GATE score may also be considered with lower emoluments as per the institute’s rules.
PostDoc / Research Associate-III
- Ph.D./MD/MS/MDS or an equivalent degree in the relevant discipline.
- OR M.E./M.Tech. with three years of research, teaching, or design & development experience and at least one research paper published in an SCI-indexed journal.
- Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis are also eligible to apply.
Project Assistant / Field Assistant / Field Worker
- A Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
Salary Details
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar will offer the following monthly salary to selected candidates based on the post:
- JRF / Project Associate-I: ₹37,000 per month + 9% HRA
- PostDoc / Research Associate-III: ₹67,000 per month + 9% HRA
- Project Assistant / Field Assistant / Field Worker: ₹24,000 per month + 9% HRA
In addition, eligible candidates will receive 9% House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per the project norms. The salary will vary depending on the post selected.
Age limit
As per the recruitment details:
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: No Upper Age Limit
Candidates must satisfy the minimum age requirement on the date prescribed by the institute. Since no maximum age limit has been specified, eligible candidates of any age can apply, provided they fulfil the required educational qualifications and other eligibility conditions.
