Eligibility Details
Candidates must meet the following post-wise educational requirements:
- Technician Apprentice (Mechanical): 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
- Technician Apprentice (Electrical): 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Electrical Engineering with the prescribed marks.
- Technician Apprentice (Instrumentation): 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering with the prescribed marks.
- Technician Apprentice (Civil): 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Civil Engineering with the prescribed marks.
- Technician Apprentice (Electrical & Electronics): 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with the prescribed marks.
- Technician Apprentice (Electronics): 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Electronics Engineering with the prescribed marks.
- Trade Apprentice (Fitter): Matriculation with a regular full-time 2-year ITI course in Fitter trade.
- Trade Apprentice (Electrician): Matriculation with a regular full-time 2-year ITI course in Electrician trade.
- Trade Apprentice (Electronics Mechanic): Matriculation with a regular full-time 2-year ITI course in Electronics Mechanic trade.
- Trade Apprentice (Instrument Mechanic): Matriculation with a regular full-time 2-year ITI course in Instrument Mechanic trade.
- Trade Apprentice (Machinist): Matriculation with a regular full-time 2-year ITI course in Machinist trade.
- Graduate Apprentice: Regular full-time Graduate degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
- Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (Fresher): Class 12th pass and below graduate level.
- Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders): Class 12th pass, below graduate level, along with a Skill Certificate in Domestic Data Entry Operator.
Salary Details
IOCL will provide the apprentices with a stipend as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, Apprentices Rules, 1992, and applicable government guidelines. In addition, IOCL will pay ₹2,500 per month towards miscellaneous expenses. However, the notification does not specify one fixed monthly stipend amount, as the applicable stipend varies according to the apprenticeship category and prevailing rules.
- Graduate Apprentice: Stipend as per applicable apprenticeship rules + ₹2,500/month miscellaneous expenses.
- Technician Apprentice: Stipend as per applicable apprenticeship rules + ₹2,500/month miscellaneous expenses.
- Trade Apprentice: Stipend as per applicable apprenticeship rules + ₹2,500/month miscellaneous expenses.
Age limit
Candidates must calculate their age as on 31 August 2026 for this recruitment.
- General / UR / EWS: 18 to 24 years
- OBC-NCL: Up to 27 years
- SC/ST: Up to 29 years
- PwBD (General): Up to 10 years additional relaxation
- PwBD (OBC-NCL): Up to 13 years additional relaxation
- PwBD (SC/ST): Up to 15 years additional relaxation
Application Fee

Selection Process
IOCL will complete the selection through merit and verification stages without any written examination or interview.
- Merit List: IOCL will prepare the merit list based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualifying examination.
- Tie-Breaking: If candidates secure equal marks, IOCL will first consider the candidate with the earlier date of birth and then higher Matriculation marks.
- First-Time Apprentice Preference: IOCL will give preference to candidates who are applying for apprenticeship training for the first time.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for document verification.
- Medical Fitness Test: Candidates must clear the pre-engagement medical fitness test as per IOCL standards.
- Final Engagement: IOCL will issue the engagement offer to candidates who successfully complete document verification and the medical fitness test.

- Technician Apprentice (Diploma): Register and apply through the NATS portal.
- Graduate Apprentice: Register and apply through the NATS portal.
- Complete your NAPS/NATS profile with correct personal, educational, category and percentage details.
- Log in to the respective portal and apply for IOCL (MD)-Northern Region using the applicable Establishment ID:

- After submitting the NAPS/NATS application, complete the Microsoft Office Form with your details, preferred state and three preferred locations.
