The High Court of HP has announced a major recruitment drive for 388 vacancies across various posts, including Court Manager, Clerk, Stenographer Grade-III, Driver, Process Server, and Peon/Orderly/Chowkidar/Safai Karamchari. Moreover, the recruitment covers both Group-B, Group-C, and Group-D positions, offering opportunities for candidates with qualifications ranging from 10+2 to graduation and MBA, depending on the post. Eligibility Details
The educational qualification varies according to the post.
- Court Manager: Graduation in any stream + MBA from a UGC-recognized university/institution, along with 3 years of relevant experience in Process Management, IT Systems Management, HR Management, or Financial Management.
- Clerk: Graduation from a recognized university with basic computer knowledge, including Windows/Linux operations and typing/printing.
- Stenographer Grade-III: Graduation degree from a recognized university.
- Driver: Matriculation pass + valid LMV driving licence held for at least 3 years + 3 years of LMV driving experience.
- Process Server: 10+2 pass from a recognized Board.
- Peon/Orderly/Chowkidar/Safai Karamchari/Chowkidar-cum-Safai Karamchari: 10+2 pass from a recognized Board.
Additional eligibility: Candidates must be Indian citizens. Except for Bonafide Himachalis, candidates must meet the prescribed Himachal Pradesh schooling/qualification conditions and have knowledge of the state’s customs and dialects.
Salary Details
The regular posts carry the following pay levels and salary ranges, while contractual and daily-wage posts receive remuneration as fixed by the government.
- Court Manager: ₹48,700 – ₹1,54,300 per month — Pay Level 16
- Clerk: ₹20,200 – ₹64,000 per month — Pay Level 3
- Stenographer Grade-III: ₹25,600 – ₹81,200 per month — Pay Level 6
- Driver: ₹21,300 – ₹67,800 per month — Pay Level 5
- Process Server: ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 per month — Pay Level 1
- Peon/Orderly/Chowkidar/Safai Karamchari: ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 per month — Pay Level 1
Note: Candidates selected against contractual or daily-wage vacancies will receive wages/remuneration according to the applicable government rules.
Age limit
The age limit varies according to the post and category. The authorities will calculate the candidate’s age as on 1 January 2026.
- Court Manager: 25 to 35 years
- Other Posts – UR/EWS: 18 to 45 years
- Reserved HP Categories (SC/ST/OBC/PH): 18 to 50 years, where the post is reserved for the respective category
- HP Government Employees: 18 to 50 years
- Age Relaxation: Eligible Bonafide SC, ST, OBC candidates of HP and persons with benchmark disabilities of HP can get 5 years’ relaxation in the upper age limit, subject to the applicable conditions.
Application Fee
Candidates must pay the examination fee online according to their category.
- UR Candidates: ₹450 (including GST)
- Reserved HP Categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PH): ₹300 (including GST)
- Candidates must pay the fee through online mode only.
- Once paid, the examination fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Selection Process
The selection process varies according to the post. Candidates must qualify the prescribed stages for their respective post.
- Court Manager: Written Test followed by Viva-voce.
- Clerk: Screening Test → Written Test → Typing Test → Document Verification.
- Typing speed required: 30 WPM in English and 25 WPM in Hindi (Kruti Dev-10 font).
- Stenographer Grade-III: Screening Test → Stenography Test → Typing Test.
- Stenography speed: 80 WPM in English
- Typing speed: 40 WPM in English and 30 WPM in Hindi (Kruti Dev-10 font)
- More than 10% mistakes in transcription or typing will lead to disqualification.
- Driver: Screening Test → Driving Proficiency Test → Document Verification.
- Process Server: Screening Test → Written Test → Evaluation.
- Peon/Orderly/Chowkidar/Safai Karamchari: Candidates will be shortlisted in a 1:3 ratio for Evaluation/Document Verification based on their 10+2 marks and evaluation of uploaded documents. The final merit will depend on the combined score.
