Eligibility Details
The post-wise educational qualifications for Army AOC Group C Recruitment 2026 are given below:
- Tradesman Mate: Candidates must have passed 10th Class (Matriculation) from a recognized Board.
- Fireman: Candidates must have passed 10th Class (Matriculation) from a recognized Board.
- Junior Office Assistant (JOA): Candidates must have passed 12th Class from a recognized Board/University and possess English typing speed of 35 words per minute on a computer.
- Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Candidates must have passed 10th Class (Matriculation) from a recognized Board.
- Material Assistant: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
Salary Details
Selected candidates will receive salary according to the 7th Pay Commission. The post-wise pay scale is as follows:
- Tradesman Mate: ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 per month (Pay Level-1)
- Fireman: ₹19,900 – ₹63,200 per month (Pay Level-2)
- Junior Office Assistant (JOA): ₹19,900 – ₹63,200 per month (Pay Level-2)
- Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 per month (Pay Level-1)
- Material Assistant: ₹29,200 – ₹92,300 per month (Pay Level-5)
In addition to the basic pay, selected employees will also receive admissible allowances and benefits as per Government of India rules.
Age limit
The age will be calculated as on the closing date of online application.
- Tradesman Mate: 18–25 years
- Fireman: 18–25 years
- Junior Office Assistant (JOA): 18–25 years
- Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): 18–25 years
- Material Assistant: 18–27 years
Age Relaxation: Reserved-category candidates will receive upper-age relaxation as per Government of India rules.

Selection Process
The Army AOC will select candidates through different stages according to the post. The complete selection process, including the written exam pattern, is given below:
1. Written Examination
First, eligible candidates will appear for the objective-type written examination. The exam will contain 100 questions for 100 marks.

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates applying for posts where physical standards apply, particularly Fireman and Tradesman Mate, will have to qualify in the prescribed Physical Efficiency Test.
3. Typing Test
Candidates applying for Junior Office Assistant (JOA) will have to qualify for the prescribed English typing test of 35 words per minute.
4. Document Verification
After qualifying in the applicable tests, candidates will have to appear for Document Verification. They must produce their original educational, age, category and other required documents.
5. Medical Examination
Finally, shortlisted candidates will undergo a Medical Examination. Candidates must meet the prescribed medical standards to receive appointment.
Therefore, the final selection will depend on the candidate’s performance in the written examination and qualifying in the applicable PET/typing test, followed by document verification and medical examination.
