Eligibility Details

Candidates must meet the minimum educational qualification for the post they apply for. The required qualifications are as follows:

  • Stenographer Grade-II: Passed 12th (Intermediate) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Tax Assistant: Completed a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
  • Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Passed 10th (Matriculation) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.

Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive salary under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix. In addition to the basic pay, they will also receive DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, and other Central Government benefits as per rules.

Age limit

The age limit will be calculated as on 01 January 2026. Candidates must satisfy the following criteria before applying.

Age Relaxation

The Income Tax Department will provide upper age relaxation to eligible meritorious sportspersons as per Government of India rules.

Application Fee

To complete the application process, every candidate must pay the prescribed fee through online mode. The department has not announced any category-wise fee exemption.

Selection Process

The Income Tax Department will select candidates under the Sports Quota by evaluating their sports achievements first. After that, eligible candidates will complete the required skill test (where applicable), followed by document verification and medical examination.

Stage 1: Sports Merit Evaluation

The department will prepare the merit list according to the Government of India Sports Quota priority order:
