Through this recruitment drive, BLW aims to select talented players who meet the prescribed sports performance standards and other eligibility conditions. Eligibility Details
Candidates must meet the prescribed educational requirements according to the pay level of the post. The qualification requirements are as follows:
- Pay Level 5: Candidates must hold a degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
- Pay Level 2: Candidates must have passed Class 12th (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University.
- Pay Level 1: Candidates must have passed Class 10th, or hold an ITI qualification, equivalent qualification, or a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT.
Salary Details
BLW will provide salary according to the Pay Level assigned to each post under the 7th Central Pay Commission. The applicable pay levels are:
- Pay Level 5: ₹29,200 – ₹92,300 per month
- Pay Level 2: ₹19,900 – ₹63,200 per month
- Pay Level 1: ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 per month
In addition to basic pay, selected candidates may receive applicable allowances and benefits as per Indian Railways rules.
Age limit
BLW will calculate the candidate’s age as on January 1, 2027. Candidates must fall within the prescribed age range:
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 25 years
- Candidates born between January 1, 2002, and January 1, 2009, both dates inclusive, can apply.
- BLW will not provide any age relaxation to candidates from any category.
Application Fee
Candidates must pay the applicable fee before completing the application process. The fee structure is as follows:
- General Candidates: ₹400
- SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Minorities and EBC Candidates: ₹250
- BLW will refund the application fee to candidates who actually appear for the sports trial.
- Candidates must deposit the fee into the prescribed BLW SBI account before the application deadline.
- After paying the fee, candidates must log in again, upload the payment receipt, and complete the application process.
Selection Process
BLW will select candidates through a merit-based process that evaluates their documents, sports performance, achievements, and educational qualifications. The selection process includes:
- Application Screening: BLW will first check the submitted applications and verify whether candidates meet the prescribed eligibility conditions.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce their original documents for verification.
- Sports Trial: Candidates who clear document verification will appear for the sports trial. The trial carries 40 marks for game skills, physical fitness, and the coach’s assessment.
- FIT/NOT FIT Assessment: Candidates must score at least 25 marks out of 40 in the trial to qualify as FIT and move to the next stage.
- Sports Achievement Assessment: BLW will award up to 50 marks based on the candidate’s recognized sports achievements.
- Educational Qualification: Candidates can earn up to 10 marks for their educational qualification.
- Final Merit List: BLW will prepare the final merit list using the total score out of 100 marks.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must secure at least 70 marks for Pay Level 5, 65 marks for Pay Level 2, and 60 marks for Pay Level 1.
- Final Selection: BLW will offer appointments strictly according to merit. If two candidates obtain the same score, BLW will give preference to the younger candidate.
