Eligibility Details
Before applying, candidates should make sure they meet the educational qualification and experience requirements for the respective post.
1. Social Worker
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
- One-year Diploma in Social Work from a recognized University/Institution.
- Minimum one year of experience in Social Work in a recognized Institution or Hospital.
- OR
- Postgraduate Degree in Sociology from a recognized University.
2. Upper Division Clerk (UDC)
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years of experience in correspondence work in a Government Department, Semi-Government Organization, Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), Autonomous Body, or Institution.
- Good knowledge of office procedures, rules, and regulations.
3. Lower Division Clerk (LDC)
- Passed 12th Class (Intermediate) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University.
- Typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi/Tamil on a computer.
Salary Details
Before applying, candidates should also know the salary offered for each post. All selected candidates will receive pay as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) along with applicable government allowances.

Age limit
The age limit will be calculated as on 01 January 2026 for the Social Worker post, while for UDC and LDC posts, the age limit will be determined as on the closing date of the application.
Age Limit
- Social Worker: Maximum 30 years.
- Upper Division Clerk (UDC): 18 to 27 years.
- Lower Division Clerk (LDC): 18 to 27 years.
Age Relaxation:
- Central Government Civilian Employees: Up to 5 years (as per Government of India rules).
- PwBD Candidates: Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India norms.
- SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates applying against Unreserved (UR) vacancies will not receive age relaxation.
Application Fee
Before submitting the application form, candidates should check the application fee applicable to their category.
- UR/OBC/EWS Candidates: ₹300
- SC/ST Candidates: No Application Fee
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): No Application Fee
Payment Mode:
- The application fee must be paid only through a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of Central Council for Research in Siddha, payable at the prescribed location.
- No other payment methods such as Cash, Cheque, Money Order, or Postal Order will be accepted.
- Once paid, the application fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Selection Process
Before applying, candidates should understand the complete selection process. The Council will conduct the recruitment in multiple stages depending on the post applied for.
- Shortlisting of Applications: The Council will first shortlist candidates based on their educational qualifications, experience, and other eligibility conditions mentioned in the notification.
- Written Examination: Shortlisted candidates will appear for a written test. The marks obtained in this examination will play the key role in preparing the final merit list.
- Skill (Typing) Test – Only for LDC: Candidates applying for the Lower Division Clerk (LDC) post must qualify a computer-based typing test. However, this test is qualifying in nature, and its marks will not be added to the final merit.
- Personal Interview (Where Applicable): If required for a particular post, the Council may also conduct a personal interview as part of the recruitment process.
- Final Merit List: Finally, the Council will prepare the selection list based on the candidate’s performance in the written examination (and interview, wherever applicable). Candidates who successfully clear all required stages will receive the appointment.

How to Apply
Before submitting the application form, candidates should carefully follow the official instructions to ensure that the Council accepts their application without any issues.
- Visit the official CCRS website and download the prescribed application form for the respective post.
- Read the official notification carefully and confirm that you meet all the eligibility conditions before applying.
- Fill out the application form with correct personal, educational, and other required details.
- Affix a recent passport-size colour photograph in the space provided and sign the application in running hand.
- Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents, including educational certificates, age proof, experience certificates (if applicable), category/PwBD certificate (if applicable), and other supporting documents.
- Prepare a Demand Draft (DD) of ₹300 (if applicable) in favour of “Central Council for Research in Siddha”, payable at Chennai.
- Write “Application for the Post of ________” clearly on the top of the envelope.
- Send the completed application form only through Speed Post to the following address before the last date:
