The recruitment covers various positions, including Horticulture Technician, Junior Staff Nurse, Junior Pharmacist, Junior Lab Technician, Junior Laboratory Assistant, FMPHW, MMPHW, Supervisor, and several other posts. Moreover, these vacancies are available under UT, divisional, and district cadres across Jammu and Kashmir, providing candidates with opportunities to join different government departments. Eligibility Details
The required educational qualification varies according to the post. Candidates should check the specific requirements before applying.
- Senior Canning Attendant: Matriculation or equivalent with 6 months of training in Fruit Preservation.
- Horticulture Technician Grade-IV: 10+2 with one year of Basic Horticulture training from a recognised government/eligible institution.
- Health Educator: Graduation with Science.
- Sanitary Inspector: 10+2 or higher with at least a 2-year Diploma in Sanitation and Public Health.
- Junior Pharmacist: 10+2 with Science along with a Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy.
- Para Medical Assistant: 10+2 with a Diploma in Para Medical Assistant Course.
- Junior Theatre Technician: Matriculation or higher with a Degree or Diploma in Operational Theatre Technology.
- Junior Ophthalmic Technician: Matriculation or higher with a Degree or Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician Course.
- Junior Lab Technician: Matriculation or higher with a minimum 2-year Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Technology.
- Junior Staff Nurse: Matriculation with Science along with a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.
- FMPHW: Matriculation or higher with Science and the prescribed FMPHW Diploma.
- MMPHW: Matriculation or higher with Science and the prescribed MMPHW Diploma of at least one year.
- Junior Laboratory Assistant: Graduate degree with Science. Preference applies to candidates with a Post Graduate Diploma in a professional laboratory course in Chemistry or another Science subject.
- Supervisor: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised university or examination board.
Salary Details
The salary depends on the post and its assigned pay level. The recruitment offers the following pay scales:
- Level-2: ₹19,900 – ₹63,200 per month — Horticulture Technician Grade-IV, Senior Canning Attendant, FMPHW, MMPHW, Junior Laboratory Assistant, and Supervisor.
- Level-4: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 per month — Junior Pharmacist, Para Medical Assistant, Junior Theatre Technician, Junior Ophthalmic Technician, Junior Lab Technician, and Junior Staff Nurse.
- Level-6: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 per month — Health Educator.
- Level-6D: ₹35,800 – ₹1,13,200 per month — Sanitary Inspector.
The selected candidates will receive the applicable salary according to their respective post and pay level, along with other benefits and allowances as per the applicable government rules.
Age limit
The Board will calculate the candidate’s age as on January 1, 2026, and the maximum age limit varies according to the candidate’s category.
- Open Merit (OM): 40 years
- SC: 43 years
- ST-1: 43 years
- ST-2: 43 years
- RBA: 43 years
- ALC/IB: 43 years
- EWS: 43 years
- OBC: 43 years
- Physically Challenged Person: 42 years
- Ex-Servicemen: They can deduct their period of military service from their actual age, subject to the conditions mentioned in the official notification.
Application Fee
Candidates must pay the application fee online while submitting the application form. The applicable fee is as follows:
- General Category: ₹600
- SC / ST-1 / ST-2 / EWS / PwBD: ₹500
Candidates can pay the fee through Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card. Moreover, the Board will not refund the fee once paid under any circumstances.
Selection Process
JKSSB will shortlist candidates based on their marks in the written examination. After that, candidates who secure a place in the merit list will appear for Document Verification, where the Board will verify their eligibility and original certificates. No interview will be conducted for these posts.
- Exam Mode: Written/OMR-based examination
- Question Type: Objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Language: English
- Negative Marking: 1/4th mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- Merit: Candidates will be ranked according to their performance in the written examination.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce their original documents and certificates for verification.
- Exam Date: JKSSB will announce the examination date, venue, and detailed syllabus separately.
