Eligibility Details
The candidate must meet the following qualification requirements:
- Must have passed Class 10th with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board.
- Must hold a National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade.
- Eligible ITI trades include Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Diesel Mechanic, Carpenter, Painter, Mason, Pipe Fitter, Electronics Mechanic, COPA, Turner/Machinist, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance, and Black Smith, as applicable to the available training slots.
- The required qualification must be completed on or before the date of application.
- Candidates awaiting their final examination results are not eligible to apply.
Salary Details
The apprenticeship provides a stipend, rather than a regular employee salary:
- Stipend: As per the prevailing rules and directives issued by the Railway Board.
- The notification does not specify a fixed stipend amount for this apprenticeship.
- No hostel accommodation will be provided; selected candidates must make their own arrangements during the training period.
- Apprentices will be released after successful completion of the training.
- Completion of the apprenticeship does not guarantee permanent employment in Indian Railways.
Age limit
Age will be calculated as on 06 November 2026.
- Minimum Age: 15 years
- Maximum Age: 24 years
- SC/ST: Upper age relaxation of 5 years
- OBC: Upper age relaxation of 3 years
- PwBD: Upper age relaxation of 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Additional relaxation as per the applicable rules.
Application Fee
The application fee varies according to the candidate’s category:
- General / Other Candidates: ₹100
- SC/ST Candidates: No Fee
- PwBD Candidates: No Fee
- Women Candidates: No Fee
- The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online through the available payment gateway.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on merit, followed by document verification and medical examination:
- Merit List: Prepared using the average of Class 10th and relevant ITI marks.
- Tie-Breaker: If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will get preference. If their date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Class 10th earlier will be preferred.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce their original educational, technical and other required documents.
- Medical Examination: Candidates must pass the prescribed medical fitness requirements.
- The final panel will be prepared Division/Unit-wise, Trade-wise and Community-wise according to merit and available slots.

- Upload the required photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
- Pay the applicable application fee online.
