Eligibility Details
Candidates must fulfill the following educational requirements to apply for the Multi-Tasking Staff post:
- Candidates must have passed SSC/10th Standard from a recognized Board or Institution.
- The recruitment authority accepts the qualification only if a recognized Board or Institution has awarded it.
- Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification by the closing date of the application process.
- However, simply holding the required qualification does not guarantee a call for the written examination, as CSIR-NAL will screen applications before shortlisting candidates.
Salary Details
The selected candidates will receive the following salary and benefits:
- The Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) post carries Pay Level-1 under the 7th Central Pay Commission.
- The basic pay ranges from ₹18,000 to ₹56,900 per month.
- In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will receive Dearness Allowance (DA) as applicable.
- Furthermore, candidates will get benefits such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), NPS, medical facilities/reimbursement, LTC, and Children Education Allowance (CEA) as per the applicable CSIR/Government of India rules.
Age limit
As per the recruitment notification, candidates must meet the prescribed age criteria given below:
- The maximum age limit is 25 years.
- The candidate’s age will be calculated as on the last date of receipt of applications.
- Candidates must provide valid documents to support their date of birth during the recruitment process.
- However, the applicable age relaxation will be available to eligible reserved-category candidates as per the Government of India rules.

Application Fee
Candidates must pay the prescribed application fee while submitting their application:
- General / OBC / EWS Candidates: ₹500
- SC / ST / PwBD / Women Candidates: No Application Fee
- Candidates must pay the fee through the prescribed payment mode mentioned in the official notification.
- Moreover, the application fee, once paid, will not be refunded under normal circumstances.
Selection Process
CSIR-NAL will select eligible candidates through a competitive written examination, as detailed below:
Written Examination
Candidates who fulfill the eligibility conditions will first undergo application screening. After that, CSIR-NAL will shortlist eligible candidates for the written examination. The exam will follow an OMR-based Objective Type Multiple Choice format and will be conducted only in Bengaluru.

Exam Pattern
- The examination will contain 150 questions.
- Candidates will get 2 hours to complete the paper.
- Each correct answer will carry 3 marks.
- The exam will follow the Class 10 standard.
- General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness questions will be available in English, Hindi and Kannada.
- The English Language section will be available only in English.
- CSIR-NAL will deduct 1 mark for every wrong answer.
Finally, CSIR-NAL will prepare the merit list based on candidates’ performance in the written examination.

How to Apply
Candidates must submit the CSIR-NAL MTS application offline through Speed Post/Courier only. Follow the steps below to complete the application correctly:
- First, download the prescribed application form and notification from the official CSIR-NAL website.
- Fill out the application form neatly on A4-size paper. Handwritten applications will not be accepted.
- Affix a recent self-attested passport-size colour photograph and sign the form in the prescribed space.
- Attach self-attested copies of the required 10th certificate/marksheet, educational documents, category certificate, and other applicable documents.
- If applicable, prepare a ₹500 Demand Draft in favour of “The Director, CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories”, payable at Bengaluru.
- Write “Application for the Post of MTS, Advt. No. 11/2026” on the envelope.
- Send the complete application through Speed Post/Courier so that it reaches the prescribed address by 21 September 2026, up to 5:00 PM.
