Eligibility Details
To become eligible for the Patna High Court Ex-Cadre Assistant Recruitment 2026, candidates must fulfil the following educational requirements:
- Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised University or Institution.
- Candidates must possess a Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application of at least 6 months from a recognised institution.
- Applicants must have acquired all the required educational qualifications on or before 01 January 2026.
- Candidates should upload all relevant educational certificates and mark sheets while submitting the online application form.
Salary Details
Selected candidates will receive a salary under Pay Level-4 of the 7th Pay Commission. In addition, they will also get various government allowances and benefits as per Patna High Court rules.
- Pay Scale: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 per month
- Pay Level: Level-4 (7th CPC Pay Matrix)
- Additional Benefits: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), Medical Benefits, Leave Benefits, and other admissible allowances.
- Probation Period: Initially, selected candidates will remain on one year of probation as per the recruitment rules.

The age limit will be calculated as on 01 January 2026.

Age Relaxation
Candidates belonging to reserved categories can avail age relaxation as per the Patna High Court recruitment rules.
- Central Government/Bihar Government Employees: 5 years upper age relaxation.
- Locomotor Disabled Candidates: Additional 10 years relaxation in the applicable upper age limit.
- Existing Patna High Court Employees, Daily Wage Workers, Court Staff, and Deputation Employees: No upper age limit is applicable as per the official rules.
- Reserved category age relaxation is available only to permanent residents of Bihar who produce valid supporting certificates during the selection process.

Selection Process

- Stage 2: Written Examination – Candidates must appear for the written test covering subjects such as General English, General Hindi, Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and Computer Awareness.
- Stage 3: Computer Proficiency Test (Qualifying) – Qualified candidates will take a computer skill test to assess their proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Internet usage.
- Stage 4: Interview – Candidates who qualify the Computer Proficiency Test will appear for the interview conducted by the Patna High Court.
- Document Verification – The High Court will verify all original educational, identity, category, and other required documents before the final appointment.
- Medical Fitness Test – Finally, selected candidates must submit the prescribed medical fitness certificate before joining the post.
